In-frame kitchen
Kevin and Gail were left in the lurch
Gail and Kevin Scott were amidst extensive home renovations in Merrow, Guildford, having temporarily moved out during the work.
Just hours before Christmas closure, Kevin reached out to us with an urgent need—his previous kitchen supplier had fallen through due to an unexpected leak, leaving him without the promised kitchen, utility room, and media unit set for January installation.

although the Scotts had plans from their original supplier, they required adjustments to ensure the design fit perfectly within their newly renovated space.
The initial kitchen design had discrepancies—wall and base units were not aligned, and the hob area required precision adjustments for a seamless fit.

open plan kitchen calls for open mind design
Time constraints presented the most pressing challenge, alongside design adjustments to align with existing unit placements.
Additionally, our design had to account for pre-installed services, including plumbing and electrics.
The extension provided a spacious, open-plan kitchen area, and we created a custom media centre to complement the kitchen’s flow and aesthetic.
To maintain budget and stay on schedule, the media unit was meticulously pre-fabricated in the factory, allowing for efficient on-site assembly.
In the adjoining utility room, we incorporated bespoke bi-fold units to accommodate access to the central heating system while providing space for a stacked washer and dryer setup.

here’s how this in-frame kitchen in Guildford got back on track:
They chose painted Caithness Slate Grey for the kitchen doors contrasting with oak for the cabinetry. This ties all back together nicely with the oak breakfast bar and open unit near the window.
The media centre at the far end of the room was also custom made in the same colour unifying the space nicely.
The 10 drawers all centred around the hob provide easy access to utensils and cookware using Blum’s silent close runners.
The matching lights above the breakfast bar finish this in-frame kitchen off perfectly.
