The Jones family kitchen had seen better days
Carol approached Saffron Interiors to wake up her Godalming kitchen, which had a tired old in-frame design.
The Corian worktops had served their purpose for many years, but they needed replacing. She wanted us to completely renovate the whole space, including new flooring and wall tiles. The mood Carol had in mind was simple and timeless.
As she had become accustomed to the benefits of Corian, Carol also wanted to incorporate seamless, non-porous surfaces again.

Saffron Interiors tackled the revamp
The transformation of this space was incredible both in terms of aesthetics and function – one that the family will enjoy for years to come.
- We fitted Mistral tops in ‘Mist’, which have very similar properties to Carol’s favourites from Corian (but are approximately 20% less expensive).
- The family of three often took meals together in the kitchen so we replaced the existing fixed table with a pull-out custom table that could accommodate four when they had a guest (this sat under a storage drawer when not in use, ensuring that no practical space was lost and there was no need for a physical break in the run of units).
- Carefully selected appliances catered for all the Jones family’s cooking requirements.
Here’s how this kitchen in Godalming came back to life:
- Carol settled on our Wyvis shaker door from the Caledonia range, painted in ‘Elgin Grey’ to add a slight modern twist.
- A run of wall units and glass display cabinets was placed over the dining section to house a boiler as well as glassware.
- Brushed nickel bar handles stopped the overall look from becoming too traditional.
- Our kitchen designers completed the look with a Blanco subline ceramic bowl sink and Blanco ‘Artis’ taps.
