A new home in the country for Jack and Yasmin

They had grand plans to renovate the kitchen and dining space with bi-fold doors that opened out to the beautiful Cranleigh countryside.
With a new dog and plans to have children in the near future, their brief outlined the need for a functional and practical kitchen that suits the dynamics of family life.
growing up with one, Yasmin had aspirations of incorporating an AGA into the design. She was keen to also include modern cooking appliances for convenience.
Overall, the space had to be homely and have a classic, farmhouse feel without being too ornate.
Jack and Yasmin’s previous kitchen with a cosy garden terrace helped sell their house.

Having worked with Jack and Yasmin before, our kitchen design team were quick to establish material and colour preferences as well as choice components like the sink, tap and hob which had proved to work well in the previous project.
During the initial survey, it was established that a small inglenook in the kitchen could be opened further to accommodate the full width of the 100cm AGA. This created a key focal point in the design.
here's how the kitchen in Cranleigh came to life
The generous 6.5 metre run of units on the outside wall and a central island offers plentiful worktop space. This allowed the kitchen designers the opportunity to introduce tall larder storage as well as a full height fridge freezer and tall oven housing on the internal walls. This left enough space over to create a nook for countertop appliances.
A window seat was designed to sit perfectly framed in the bay window at the front of the property.
And as you can see from the photos, someone is quite at home near the warmth of the AGA. She even managed to sneak into a couple of the other shots 🙂
